One of our major successes is the development and running of Click & Grow’s affiliate program, which ultimately managed to onboard over 1,000 active partners by June 2025, thanks to our efforts. We did this in collaboration with UpPromote, an all-in-one affiliate marketing software solution that helped us streamline the brand’s marketing and sales funnel.

What Is Click & Grow?
Click & Grow is an Estonian-based company specializing in producing and selling indoor gardening solutions, including pods, equipment, and accessories. Founded in 2009 by Mattias Lepp, it’s one of the pioneers of “smart gardening”: compact, sustainable indoor gardening based on electronic products.
What sets Click & Grow’s solutions apart from traditional indoor gardening is their focus on providing compact, all-in-one products.
These make it easy to grow plants that thrive all year round, such as plant pods that include seeds together with a compost and fertilizer compound ideal for the plant, as well as “smart gardens” that provide them a space to grow.
What Were the Challenges That Click & Grow Faced?
Click & Grow struggled with establishing a strong online presence as an international brand with stable revenue on multiple continents. They attempted to achieve this by creating an affiliate marketing network, which, however, failed to meet its intended goals due to a lack of resources and a weak affiliate infrastructure.
In fact, Click & Grow only managed to onboard 60 new affiliates during this initial period, which led them to seek external services.
What Were Our Performance Goals?
To boost the performance of Click & Grow’s affiliate program, our first priority was to bring in more affiliates to increase site traffic. This directly correlates to an increase in leads, naturally also leading to more sales and greater revenue.
For the first 6-month period, the idea was to try and reach at least 200 affiliate partnerships, building a solid foundation for future expansions.
How Did We Reach These Goals?
Here are the main steps that we took to reach our goals.
Used UpPromote to Streamline the Affiliate Management Process
One of the most important aspects of launching an affiliate program is selecting the right platform to facilitate it. We opted for UpPromote, a comprehensive affiliate marketing solution for Shopify stores that’s simple to use while providing highly customizable options.
One particular aspect that UpPromote excels at is the simultaneous management of multiple affiliate programs under the same roof.
This proved to be especially useful for Click & Grow, which wanted to retain five separate affiliate programs for different regions (US, UK, EU, Asia, and Canada), each with specific products, services, and offers tailored for the region.
UpPromote allowed us to seamlessly run these five programs through separate but linked interfaces in a single dashboard, reducing the time and effort necessary to effectively manage them.
Designed a Branded Landing Page and Marketing Materials
To make onboarding easier for future affiliates, we designed a branded landing page from scratch, which would initialize an automated onboarding system.
Affiliates were also provided with a branded marketing kit, making it much easier to build affiliate links, banners, and other elements necessary to drive new traffic.
One marketing goodie that proved to be especially effective at gaining new traffic was personalized coupon codes, which partners could promote in their content, offering discounts for any Click & Grow purchases made using the code. In return, they’d receive a commission for all sales made with the code.
Focused on Influencer Acquisition
To gain maximum possible visibility, increase traffic, and even attract additional affiliates, we decided to prioritize partnerships with influencer affiliates early on. These influencers attracted traffic from highly engaged audiences by generating high-quality affiliate content, building a solid baseline for expanding the program even further soon.
As an extra motivating factor for potential influencer partners, all partners with a minimum 10k follower base were included in an exclusive reward program, providing them access to free giveaways as well as free test products.

Created a Scalable, Multi-Level Marketing Model
Enrolling influencer partners with considerable reach also provided an opportunity to use them to scale the program. We introduced a system where all existing partners who’d successfully enroll new partners into the program would receive a flat $20 bonus for each recruitment, along with a 5% commission on all future sales that they generate.
The results turned out to be impressive, as the program kept continuously growing at a steady pace ever since, eventually reaching over 1,000 total affiliate partners by June 2025.
Used a Performance-Based Reward Model
To motivate Click & Grow’s partners to continuously promote the brand and step up their marketing efforts, we introduced a tiered, performance-based reward model.
To simply and effectively track influencer performance, we used UpPromote’s tracking and reporting tools, which are capable of automatically identifying and ranking the best performers.
The default commission rate for all sales is 10%, with exclusive, high-performance tiers going up to 15% or even 20%.
Results and Benefits of Click & Grow’s New Affiliate Program
Since launching the affiliate program, there has been a steady and continuous growth in affiliate numbers as well as total revenue. The initial target of acquiring 200 partners within 6 months was successfully hit, along with a total of over $20k in sales revenue—122 of these partners, mostly influencers with more powerful reach, were enrolled within the first two months.
Since then, the program’s performance has only been growing even further, leading to one of our longest and most consistent partner relationships: we still manage Click & Grow’s affiliate programs, helping the brand’s marketing efforts.

Since launching Click & Grow’s affiliate program in May 2021, our milestones include:
- In 2021, the company acquired a total of 445 partners and surpassed the annual revenue target by 66%.
- In 2022, Click & Grow’s revenue increased by 204%, jumping to $187,000.
- In 2023, the program enrolled over 800 active partners, and the annual sales revenue increased by 187%, reaching $350,000.
- As of June 2025, the program has a total of 1,000+ active partners.
